Carlette Peters

Carlette Peters has always been creative. She was often tagged by her teachers for their visual aid needs, and her parents encouraged her to participate in after-school art programs. In college, she studied art history and earned an MFA in Painting. She worked as a graduate assistant in the Art Education Department and taught studio art at middle, high school, and community college levels before moving into the field of Arts Management.  Though not an exhibiting artist, Carlette was able to sell her work in her own gift shop.

When the pandemic hit, Carlette realized painting could be a great way to pass the time or rediscover former aspirations. So, she started teaching painting again and it continued.

Carlette loves sharing all the cool stuff she knows about art, especially painting. She’s passionate about helping people learn the basics and get the skills they need to create and paint.

Carlette believes that everyone has the potential to be an artist. She says the secret to a great artistic experience is just to be open and fearless.  She doesn’t let people say things like “I can’t draw a stick figure” in her presence. Carlette invites you to join her on an exciting painting adventure where she’ll help you unlock your artistic talents.
